WORLD DIABETES DAY (WDD) 2021 : THEME - Access to Diabetes Care (Saturday, 13th Nov. 2021) Print

World Diabetes Day (WDD) was created in 1991 by International Diabetes Federation (IDF) and the World Health Organization (WHO) in response to growing concerns about the escalating health threat posed by diabetes. WDD became an official United Nations Day in 2006 with the passage of United Nations Resolution 61/225. The campaign draws attention to issues of paramount importance to the diabetes world and keeps diabetes firmly in the public and political spotlight. It is marked every year on 14th of November, the birthday of Sir Frederick Banting, who co-discovered insulin along with Charles Best in 1922. This year, 14th of November being a Sunday, we at SKIMS want to celebrate WDD on Saturday, the 13th of November; 12:00 – 2:00 PM.

Because of COVID-19 Pandemic, we are organizing the conference in a hybrid mode wherein we are calling a limited number of participants to the venue (SKIMS Auditorium) and holding a virtual conference for rest of the participants.
