SKIMS Hosts 39th IGNOU Foundation Day, Director SKIMS asks students to acquire education with strong moral foundation.

Srinagar 19th, November 2024: SKIMS hosted 39th Foundation Day of Indira Gandhi National Open University at Auditorium today. Director SKIMS / EOSG  Prof. Ashraf Ganie graced the occasion as Chief Guest while Prof. Shahid Rasool, Dean Academic Affairs CUK and Dean Medical Faculty SKIMS Prof. Shariq R. Masoodi as guests of honour. Regional Director IGNOU Kashmir Prof. A. H Rizi & Prof. G. H Yatoo HOD, Hospital Administration & IGNOU Coordinator at SKIMS were present on the occasion.
Director SKIMS/ EOSG Prof. Ashraf Ganie gave a presidential address and said it is a pride moment for SKIMS to host the 39th foundation of worlds largest Open University. He described the healthy, skilled & young population as treasure of the country which he said holds the future of the country to lead it towards a stronger economy. He emphasised that true education revolves around strong moral foundation & skills and all of us must preserve the cultural ethics and human values that he described as a strong weapon of any developed  Nation.
Prof. Shahid Rasool  Dean Academic Affairs CUK, in his address termed the IGNOU as a big facilitator for the people who wanted to pursue education despite constraints. He said technology driven education has become norm & necessity and advised students to focus on skills and master the subject rather than acquiring a simple degree.
Prof. A.H Rizvi, Regional Director IGNOU, Kashmir thanked the SKIMS administration for the support and facilitating the organizers for the successful conduct of the event. The event was attended by the students, Guests and officials from SKIMS and other Institutions.
